The realme C-series is realme’s lineup of entry-level smartphones. However why would realme decide that not having a fingerprint scanner on the realme C2 baffles me. But if you can look past that, the realme C2 offers a pretty interesting upgrade from the realme C1 that came last year.

Instead of the Snapdragon 450 clocked at 1.8 GHz, we are seeing a Helio P22 clocked at 2.0 GHz. GPU performance with the new Mediatek chipset in the realme C2 may be a bit worse than the realme C1’s though. We will see up to 3GB RAM this time too, but there’s no telling if it will make it to Malaysia.

It will also sport a smaller notch than the realme C2, and a slightly smaller 4000 mAh battery as well. The back sees a massive revamp though, with a new Diamond Cut design that features a new nanoscale composite material for a new shimmery look. Definitely way better than the realme C1’s flat glossy plastic back.

Here are the realme C2’s specifications:

realme C2 Specifications

  • Mediatek Helio P22, octa-core up to 2.0 GHz, 12nm FinFET
  • Up to 3GB RAM
  • Up to 32GB storage (expandable via microSD)
  • 6.1″ HD+ display, 89.35% screen-to-body ratio, dewdrop notch
  • 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP depth sensor
  • 5MP selfie camera
  • 4000 mAh battery
  • ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie
  • 2GB + 16GB: INR 5999 (~RM356)
    3GB + 32GB: INR 7999 (~RM475)

The realme C2 will be available in two colors: Diamond Black and Diamond Blue.
