ROG Phone II priced from RM2094 in China
It seems like the rumors of the ROG Phone II being more affordable than the first generation are true. The ROG Phone II is now listed on JD.com with a price tag starting from 3499 yuan (~RM2094) for the 8GB + 128GB variant of the ROG Phone II.
For comparison, the ROG Phone equipped with 8GB RAM and 128GB was priced at RM3499 at launch, so we are looking at a much more reasonable price tag. Also worth noting is that even the bang-for-buck flagship Xiaomi Mi 9 is priced at RM1999 for 6GB + 128GB, so RM2094 is actually an amazingly reasonable price.
The ROG Phone II’s highest end 12GB + 512GB configuration is priced at 5999 yuan (~RM3591). Here are the ROG Phone II’s specifications:
ROG Phone II Specs
- Snapdragon 855+, octa-core, 2.96 GHz, 7nm FinFET
- Adreno 640 @ 675 MHz
- Up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM
- Up to 512GB UFS 3.0

If the ROG Phone II comes into Malaysia at that price point, it is forseeable that it will sell like hotcakes. Stock shortage should be the norm, like the AMD Ryzen 3000 series. Malaysians love their value buys.
