It would seem that there is yet another major development in the Southeast Asian eSports scene with the Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018, which is said to be Malaysia’s largest intercollegiate eSports tournament to date.

Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018

At a launch event at The Pantheon in One City, the Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018 has been officially announced. It is said to be Malaysia’s biggest intercollegiate eSports tournament to date, featuring 10 contending champions from their respective qualifiers held with 6 different cities, with the ultimate goal of being crowned champion.

With a prize pool of RM130,000, the top 10 participating teams from 10 different universities will be duking it out in a variety of games, with the 3 headlining titles being Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DotA 2, and League of Legends. There will be other games around as well, with the ones being mentioned are Asseto Corsa, Tekken 7, and Street Fighter V.

Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018

The Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018 will be having 10 qualifiers in 10 different locations with each qualifying champion being eligible to participate in the Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground 2018 main event. The grand finale will be happening sometime in October 2018. The main sponsors for the tournament are ASUS ROG, MSI, and Acer Predator.

To kick things off, TEIB is launching the tournament on May 3 at The Pantheon, Malaysia’s 1st e-Sports centre with the NVIDIA-certified Platinum iCafe. This launch will welcome gaming communities from all over Malaysia and introduce the Taiwan Excellence Intercollege Battleground to the world.
