TM to Invest RM50 Million for Streamyx and Unifi Upgrades in Sabah
We knew for a while that Telekom Malaysia (TM) is set to upgrade their services across Malaysia. After all, even MCMC is keeping a close eye on them due to the high number of consumers voicing out their displeasure across a variety of reasons. Well, we have a glimpse of another big move as TM is set to invest roughly RM50 million for Streamyx and Unifi service upgrades in Sabah this year.
According to TM Sabah General Manager, Dato’ Mohd Sainal Mohd Amin, their focus this year is to improve Streamyx areas so that the consumers can also enjoy Unifi. There will be a variety of technologies being utilized but the primary focus will be on wireless.
It was mentioned that they will be doing their best to improve and upgrade their services in cooperation with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). At this point in time, TM has about 70,000 residential and business customers throughout Sabah.
For those of you who might not be aware, TM has been given a month (now roughly 20 days left) to report and give a final solution that will aid Streamyx users who are still paying a high price and “enjoying” abysmal speeds. You can read more about that in our earlier report by clicking here.

Pokdepinion: Good to see some updates on what developments we can expect in the future. Hopefully there will be plenty more upgrades across Malaysia that we can see, especially for Streamyx.
Just focus on unifi upgrade will be better. Streamyx has to die! lol
In a sense, there’s still a focus, albeit smaller one, towards Streamyx as quite a number of them still can’t be upgraded to Unifi yet. For a number of them, TM is going the wireless route for better internet but still, it’s gonna take some time unfortunately.
