From the makers of I am Setsuna comes a brand new RPG, with the retro style gameplay we all know and love. It’s called Lost Sphear, and it’s coming to PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

ARVE Error: need id and provider

Tokyo RPG Factory’s newest retro style JRPG, Lost Sphear, will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. As a follow up to the developer’s debut title, I am Setsuna, Lost Sphear contains similar visuals and mechanics as its predecessor. However, there are new battle systems as well as cast of characters to differentiate the two.

The world of Lost Sphear is made up memories, more specifically, lost memories, which are impossible to restore. A boy named Kanata has the ability to manipulate these memories and receives a request to rebuild these fading memories and save the world.

The game is said to take place in a world threatened by a mysterious phenomenon known as Lost. To combat the Lost, the power of Memory awakens within Kanata, giving hope to the people. But the journey is too dangerous for Kanata to take on alone, and thus his friends and others will accompany him in party-style gameplay.

In addition to announcing the western release, details and introductions on two new playable characters, Sherra and Obaro, have also been provided.

Sherra is a priestess who uses a traditional bow of similar range to Locke’s crossbow. However, while Locke uses crossbows and tinkers with mechanical crafting, Sherra specializes in heal magic and various bow-related abilities.

Obaro is an elderly man who came back into existence upon the awakening of Kanata’s power. Contrary to the physical strengths of Kanata and his friends, Obaro specializes in unleashing powerful elemental magic, demolishing large enemy mobs.

In the west, Lost Sphear’s physical release will be sold exclusively from Square Enix’s online store for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Lost Sphear will see an October 12th release in Japan, and on January 23rd 2018 for both Europe and North America.

Pokdepinion: I had a lot of fun with I am Setsuna, despite the lackluster ending. It’s still enough for me to get excited to immerse myself in another RPG of theirs, Lost Sphear. If you love J-RPGs but you haven’t tried I am Setsuna yet, be prepared to be blown away by its awesome soundtrack.
