Xiaomi Mi A3 may be coming to India with a Snapdragon 730 very soon

Xiaomi is going to launch a new smartphone in India very soon, and it will be powered by a Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G. This news comes as Global VP of Xiaomi teased it in a recent tweet. Given the cadence of Xiaomi’s releases, this might be the Xiaomi Mi A3, which should be running on Android One.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 is also expected to feature pretty impressive hardware this time, with a large 4000 mAh battery, triple camera setup and even an under-display fingerprint scanner. If it does have an under-display fingerprint scanner, that would necessitate an OLED panel, which makes the Xiaomi Mi A3 even more interesting.

However I believe the most interesting specification would be the Snapdragon 730 chipset, as it should also mean that Xiaomi will be targeting a higher price point than they did with the Xiaomi Mi A2. The Snapdragon 730 is Qualcomm’s “premium mid-range” chipset, so we don’t really expect it to be all that affordable.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 should also be available as the Mi 7X or Mi 8X in China with MIUI out of the box. Usually the MIUI variant launches first in China, so stay tuned for more updates about the Mi A3!
