Smartwatches are becoming more and more ubiquitous, but most manufacturers are opting to run their own OS on them. Samsung, HUAWEI/HONOR and Amazfit’s popular smartwatches run their respective proprietary operating systems, which can limit their integration with Android smartphones. Not the Xiaomi Mi Watch Color.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Color runs Google’s Wear OS, and comes packed with some pretty awesome specifications. There’s a 1.39″ 454px AMOLED display, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and a large-ish 420 mAh battery. The battery promises up to 14 days of battery life, which is pretty amazing for a Wear OS smartwatch. There’s also 5 ATM (50 meters) water resistance, which is pretty standard for smartwatches.

Like most recent smartwatches, the Mi Watch Color is packed full of fitness-oriented features, giving you sleep tracking, 10 sports modes and heart rate monitoring. When used in sports mode, the battery life dwindles down to just 22 hours, but that’s plenty of time for you to get back to a charger.

Xiaomi boasts over 1540 watch faces that you can customize your Mi Watch Color with. I must say that there are some that looks pretty familiar coming from the Mi Band 4.

The best part? It’s priced at 799 CNY (~RM469) which makes it the most affordable Wear OS smartwatch thus far. Whether it will make its way to Malaysia remains to be seen, but Xiaomi Malaysia hasn’t held back when it comes to wearables thus far. And oh, it’s available in two colors, silver and black. Not all that colorful for a smartwatch with the word color in its name, right?
