Your Personal Data Might Be Sold Off To Salespeople And Loan Sharks

Have you been getting messages from unknown numbers that offer you loans or even insurance plans? Well according to Melaka Pakatan Harapan’s youth vice-chief Naqiuddin Nazrin, our personal data might have gotten to the hands of strangers thanks to a seller.

He has said that he received feedback from grassroot level that there has been unknown callers claiming to be insurance agents and also loan providers that had personal information of individuals.

In light of the event, Naqiuddin said “We need to look into a more comprehensive data protection law to protect innocent people from being scammed. I have been informed that the government is reviewing the law to enhance personal data protection. Such leaks are risky and could jeopardize the safety of individuals”.

One of the recipient to the calls, M.Krishna, has said that they (the caller) had even details of his MyKad, where they learned about his old home address.
