Sony has introduced three new products to its LinkBuds range with the new Fit, Open, and Speaker models. The new lineup will be coming to Malaysia starting next month, though no pricing is announced just yet.
Sony LinkBuds Lineup
The LinkBuds Fit is the new earbuds designed for those with an active lifestyle – it features newly developed Air Fitting Supporters which features a soft and hollow tail structure to reduce ear contact and therefore pressure, while the keeping the contact points snug to prevent it from slipping out of the ears. The onboard Integrated Processor V2 coupled with the specialized Dynamic Driver X (both from the WF-1000XM5) takes care of the ANC and audio.
Meanwhile, the Sony LinkBuds Open introduces a new open-ring design (with the similar Fitting Supporters structure) and a new 11mm ring driver unit that transparent audio qualities, and it comes with adaptive volume control to adjust volume based on environmental noise levels. Battery life is rated at 8 hours for the earbuds and 14 additional hours from the case.
Both of the aforementioned models will feature a special violet color courtesy of Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, who has previously co-released the same violet colorway for the LinkBuds S earbuds. These versions will come with special EQ presets and user interface tuned and designed by Olivia herself – however, the special versions will only be available in United States, Sony says.
Finally, the LinkBuds Speaker is the first model of the lineup not being a wearable. It features Auto Switch, which seamlessly transitions between different LinkBuds models depending on user needs; the speaker also offers up to 25 hours of battery life, an IPX4 water resistance rating, and advanced echo cancellation for clear calls. Its portable design includes a detachable strap for easy transport. These features can be accessed via the new Sound Connect app.
Pre-orders for the LinkBuds Open and Fit begin in Malaysia on 1 November 2024, with the Speaker available from January 2025.
Pokdepinion: Quite surprising Sony is sticking the name originally intended for earbuds to a speaker anyway.
