Razer is bringing the fourth model to its Barracuda headset lineup, the latest addition being the Barracuda X Chroma – though the Chroma RGB isn’t the only upgrade here as the name may imply.
Razer Barracuda X Chroma
For starters, the new Barracuda X Chroma has six-zone RGB lighting on both sides, with Razer SmartSwitch Dual Wireless technology for seamless multi-device use; for ergonomics, the headset comes with swiveling ear cups with breathable memory foam cushions (and helps with storage on-the-go).
Internally, the drivers are 40mm Razer TriForce units coupled with a detachable cardioid microphone for communications; however, gone is the 3.5mm headphone jack if you swear by good ol’ reliable cables. You still get a USB-C cable for charging, and for that you can get up to 70 hours in a single charge, or 40% more than its predecessor, Razer says.
Along with the headset’s launch, Razer is also announcing that its Axon app will now provide special wallpapers that act as audio visualizers. The company has collaborated with the names like Lofi Girl, The Jazz Hop Café , Blu Chip Records, Monstercat, and Celestial Aeon Project, along with Spotify integration if you want to add an extra bit of flair on your desktop.
Razer hasn’t announced local pricing at the time of this writing, though the company has confirmed that it’ll be launched in Malaysia by the end of November 2024.
