LG Electronics has been recognized at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2024 for its product designs, earning 23 awards – including two Gold, one Silver, and three Bronze, for their accessible and inclusive designs.
LG’s Winning Entries
One of the Gold awards went to LG Comfort Kit, a set of seven accessories designed to improve accessibility for LG appliances. The kit includes items such as Easy Handle, allowing users with limited strength to operate appliance doors, and Easy Ball, designed for simpler operation of dials using the palm. The kit also features Easy Hanger, which assists wheelchair users in hanging clothes on LG’s Styler.
The second Gold award was given to LG gram Fold foldable laptop that combines the lightweight design of the LG gram series with the flexibility of a foldable OLED display. The device shifts between a 12-inch laptop and a 17-inch tablet, while its magnesium alloy body ensures durability while maintaining a lightweight form.
LG also received a Silver award for its LG CineBeam Q portable projector, noted for its compact design and portability; bronze awards were given to the LG Therma V R290 Monobloc heat pump, LG’s dual inverter dehumidifier, and the LG CLOi ServeBot user interface. The CLOi UX 2.0 includes adaptive display features, such as adjusting font size based on the user’s distance from the screen.
In addition to the top awards, LG was named a finalist for 17 other products across various categories, including monitors, air conditioners, and software such as webOS UX and LG ThinQ UX.
