AMD has been quietly preparing the next Ryzen Threadripper / Threadripper Pro processors in the background since it was spotted late last year (and also this January), and now we have more information courtesy of @Olrak29_ on X (Twitter), which now reveals the model numbers of the upcoming lineup.
More Signs Of AMD Threadripper CPUs

As the screenshot shows, the models here come with ‘WX’ suffix which indicate these belong to the upcoming Threadripper Pro lineup (Ryzen Threadripper traditionally follows the single ‘X’ suffix with ‘0’ on the last digit). Specifically, the models mentioned are the 12-core 9945WX, 16-core 9955WX, and 64-core 9985WX (the 32-core 9975WX was reportedly spotted earlier on according to Videocardz.)
This likely confirms that the upcoming HEDT and workstation lineup under the name of Ryzen Threadripper and Threadripper Pro, respectively, will be offered in a range of 12 cores to 96 cores. This aligns with the Threadripper 7000 series’ offerings, though the new lineup will adopt the new Socket SP6 which is shared with AMD’s EPYC 8004 series processors. TDP is likely to remain at the 350W rating across the board.
So far, there is no timeline known for this lineup – though the launch of Threadripper Pro 7000 series dates back to late 2023, which means it should be almost time for its successor to show up in announcements, of which Computex could be a good opportunity to showcase the new chips if AMD choose to do so.
Pokdepinion: No signs of slowing down, at least.
