Serial leaker Golden Pig Upgrade (金猪升级包) has provided more insights on AMD’s upcoming RDNA4 GPU lineup, and as previous leaks have indicated, the leaker has reported that the new lineup will be similar to the original RDNA generation.
RDNA4 Sticks To Mainstream Segment
In the leaker’s words on Weibo (translated):
RDNA4’s positioning is similar to RDNA1, so don’t expect much for the flagship card’s performance, as the key is to cut costs. It will be a good thing if Navi 44 can improve the performance of the mid-range cards, otherwise Jensen Huang (NVIDIA CEO) selling AD107 as RTX 4060 will be the future norm

For context, the original RDNA lineup only tops out at the RX 5700 XT at initial launch, though the subsequent generation has covered the entire GPU market with performance rivaling NVIDIA’s top Ampere card at the time, the RTX 3090. RDNA3 was proved unsuccessful at toppling NVIDIA’s performance dominance, and RDNA4 is expected to be a “stopgap” as Team Red is expected to make a bigger jump in RDNA5.
The RDNA4 architecture is expected to feature two silicon variants – Navi 44 and Navi 48. The former will fill in the mid-range segment, while the latter will be serving the higher-end GPUs under the expected name of RX 8000 series.
