The confusion surrounding AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs seems to be clearing up to some extent, as retailers and AIB vendors have been gradually announcing the new models and even a potential launch date – despite the chipmaker has yet to announce its availability.
Radeon RX 9070 Series Launching January 23?

According to one Greek retailer Unimax – which listed the ASUS TUF variant of the Radeon RX 9070 GPU – the card will be available to pre-order starting January 23. Note that pricing and specifications listed on this page is most likely placeholder, though the specs listed do corroborate with the sister model, the RX 9070 XT.

Meanwhile, ASUS’s Turkish page on X (Twitter) has also announced that the new Radeon cards will be “coming soon”, featuring TUF Gaming (like the one above) and PRIME variants. Both variants has been discovered by this point with the amount of “leaks”, so it’s mostly a formality when these cards are eventually announced by ASUS as soon as AMD lifts the launch embargo.
All in all, this is a rather confusing and messy situation that’s unlikely to help with the launch of the new cards, as NVIDIA has announced its GeForce RTX 50 series with a relatively low MSRP (such as RTX 5070 at $549) that reportedly caught AMD off guard. It’s also no secret that Team Red has always waited for Team Green to publish MSRPs and responds with small undercuts.

According to PC Games Hardware, sources in the publication’s forum page reported that AMD priced the new cards “significantly too high,” and a last-minute change in MSRP likely meant that the chipmaker has to cover the difference for AIBs (since they have to purchase the silicon itself) through other means, as it is difficult to do price corrections once the product has been delivered to board makers.
