AGI Technology’s COMPUTEX 2025 showcase brought a new lineup of PCIe Gen5 SSDs, portable SSDs, and various SD memory cards – including ones designed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console launching soon.

The AI858 PCIe Gen5 SSD offers sequential read speeds of up to 14,000MB/s and write speeds of 12,000MB/s courtesy of Silicon Motion’s SM2508 controller, and it’ll be offered in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities; there’s also the “Project P14” that adopts Phison’s PS5028-E28 controller to achieve 14,000MB/s in both read and write operations. Then, the “Project P10” is rated for 10,000MB/s read and 8,000MB/s write via the Phison PS5031-E31T controller, although in this case no discrete heatsink is attached, which suggests that its power draw is low enough to operate without one.

Besides the internal SSDs, AGI introduced the new EDM38 Pro portable SSD compatible with USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 devices. It’s capable of saturating the full 40Gbps bandwidth of the protocol with up to 4,000MB/s read and 3,600MB/s write; other portable SSD products presented here also feature support for various USB protocols, including USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps), Gen 2 (10Gbps) and Gen 1 (5Gbps).

Finally, we have the SD card section in various form factors, including full-size SD, microSD, and CFexpress cards. Notably, the new TF338 microSD card – available in 128GB and 256GB capacities – runs on the SD 7.1 standard and offers up to 800MB/s read and 700MB/s write, which should be plenty for gaming uses. Case in point, it’s compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 console coming soon to all markets.

Pokdepinion: Didn’t expect microSD cards are becoming this fast these days.
