Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad (ZLIMB) has officially partnered with ShopeePay Malaysia, making ShopeePay its first digital distribution platform partner; the partnership was formalized at a ceremony titled “Everyday Protection, Made For All” on 7 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, where the two companies also launched the Zurich Savings and Protection Plan on the Shopee and ShopeePay apps.
Zurich Savings And Protection Plan On ShopeePay
This collaboration builds on ShopeePay’s existing partnerships with Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Berhad and Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Berhad, extending the relationship into life insurance for the first time. Users can now access life insurance products directly within an app they already use for everyday transactions, without visiting a branch or dealing with paperwork.
The Zurich Savings and Protection Plan is a two-year, single-premium plan designed to combine savings growth with life protection. Entry starts from RM500, with plans to lower the minimum entry premium to RM100 in the near future to widen access. The benefits payable under the Zurich Savings and Protection Plan are protected by PIDM (Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia) up to applicable limits.
The plan offers guaranteed cash payouts every six months, along with life and disability protection where beneficiaries receive 105% of the total premium paid. At the end of the two-year term, policyholders receive 100% principal protection at maturity. Flexible early cash-out options are also available under the single-premium structure.
To purchase the plan, users can open the ShopeePay app, tap “Insurance” on the homepage, and then select “Endowment” to get started. Zurich Malaysia’s Country CEO Junior Cho noted that the launch builds on the earlier availability of Zurich Critical Illness insurance on the platform, giving users more options to both protect and grow their finances.
Both companies indicated plans to expand further, with family takaful solutions from Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad expected to be added to the platform in 2027.
