Malaysian telecommunications company Maxis has broadened its collaboration with Google Cloud by incorporating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into its operations and services.

In partnership with Google Cloud, Maxis will implement enterprise-grade GenAI within its internal and customer service environments. Leveraging platforms like Duet AI for Developers and the Vertex AI platform, the company intends to enhance internal processes, productivity, operational insights, and customer behavior modeling.

CEO Goh Seow Eng stated: “We are delighted to collaborate with Google Cloud as we embark into new frontiers of GenAI to future-proof our organisation. As the leading integrated telecommunications provider, we look forward to developing impactful solutions that take advantage of GenAI capabilities.”

The telco provider plans to extend GenAI learnings through community programs (such as eKelas Usahawan and eKelas) and continue developing applied GenAI solutions for data analytics and cybersecurity. The collaboration was announced at Mobile World Congress 2024, where Maxis is participating as part of the Malaysia Pavilion, with more innovative partnerships expected during the event.
