Tencent Cloud and U Mobile have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the development of practical 5G and AI solutions for enterprises and SMEs in Malaysia, the telco operator has announced.
The partnership marks Tencent Cloud’s first official AI-focused collaboration with a Malaysian telecommunications provider, bringing together the Chinese hyperscale provider’s AI and cloud capabilities with U Mobile’s ULTRA5G network and its Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP).
Tencent Cloud & U Mobile Partnership
Under the agreement, Tencent Cloud – now a partner of U Mobile’s EIP program – will help the telco to “identify and develop potential enterprise applications through EIP’s Develop – Test – Demonstrate pathway.” The initiative targets enterprises and SMEs looking to integrate advanced connectivity and AI-powered tools into their operations, with successful use cases set to be tested and commercialized.
U Mobile’s EIP serves as a key enabler in this partnership, providing an ecosystem platform through which enterprise-grade 5G and AI applications can be developed and validated. Tencent Cloud contributes its global cloud infrastructure and AI technology stack to complement U Mobile’s network reach and enterprise client base.

The MOU signing was attended by senior representatives from both organisations. From Tencent Cloud, Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President and Head of Tencent Cloud International, and Bluefin Zhao, Vice President of Tencent Cloud International, were present. U Mobile was represented by Woon Ooi Yuen, Chief Technology Officer, and Junaida Abdullah, Head of Enterprise Innovation Platform.
