Google is stepping up its AI game by introducing a memory feature for its Google Gemini chatbot, similar to the one OpenAI unveiled for ChatGPT earlier this year. This new functionality is designed to make Gemini more intuitive and tailored to individual users, marking a significant leap in AI personalization.

Google Gemini Has New Memory Feature

Google Gemini’s memory feature allows the chatbot to remember user interests and preferences. According to Google’s official release notes, this will enable Gemini to deliver “more helpful and relevant responses, tailored precisely to your needs.”

You can share the information you want Gemini to remember in two ways:

  1. Through Natural Conversation: Simply mention details during your chats with Gemini.
  2. Saved Info Page: Use this dedicated page to manage your preferences, where you can view, edit, or delete anything Gemini has saved.

Whenever Gemini utilizes your saved information, it will notify you, ensuring transparency in its responses.

Availability and Benefits

Currently, this feature is exclusive to Gemini Advanced users as part of the Google One AI Premium Plan and is available only in English. By opting in, users can enjoy:

  • More Personalized Interactions: Responses that align with individual preferences.
  • Consistency Across Conversations: No need to repeat the same details every time.
  • Customizable Memory Management: Full control over what Gemini remembers.
