Google Play Store Gets New Adds in Search Bar

Google Play Store Will Be Getting More Ads For Improved Revenue

Google is testing new ad placements in the Google Play Store search bar, which are called “limited-time events and sponsored offers.” These ads will appear alongside past searches in the search bar, with a maximum of three ads displayed. The limited-time events are already used to promote streaming apps, but now they will show up in the search history along with the app name, icon, rating, and number of downloads. This move is seen as a way for Google to generate more revenue from the app store.

While some users may find the addition of ads annoying, others may appreciate the convenience of being able to see sponsored apps that are relevant to their interests. However, there are pros and cons to this new feature. On the one hand, ads could provide a new source of revenue for Google and help users find new apps that are interesting to them. On the other hand, ads could clutter the search bar and make it more difficult to find relevant results, and there is a risk that they could be used to promote low-quality or unsafe apps.

Google’s decision to add ads to the Google Play Store search bar is a mixed bag. It has the potential to generate more revenue for Google and help users find new apps, but it also has the potential to annoy users and clutter the search bar. Only time will tell how users will react to this change. It is worth noting that the addition of ads to the Google Play Store search bar is becoming available to users gradually, so it may take some time before everyone sees these new ad placements.

Pokdepinion: I’m not surprised to see this happening. They need to make sure the numbers go up, otherwise their revenue starts to go downhill over the long term. Hopefully it doesn’t come to a point where everything is just plastered with ads.
