Zeekr has officially expanded into East Malaysia with the opening of the Zeekr Kuching Pop-Up Store at The Spring Kuching, marking the brand’s first retail presence in the region. The move is backed by Sarawak automotive dealer Ghee Hua Group of Companies, which formalized a dealer agreement with Zeekr in July 2026 at the brand’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China.
Since entering Malaysia in December 2024, Zeekr has grown its national customer base to more than 5,000 owners as of August 2026. The EV maker said some Sarawak customers had already purchased Zeekr vehicles before any official retail presence existed in the state.
Zeekr Kuching Pop-Up Store @ The Spring Kuching
The Zeekr Kuching Pop-Up Store at The Spring Kuching gives visitors access to the brand’s current model range, including the Zeekr 7X, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr X, offering hands-on product experiences alongside professional sales support from the Ghee Hua team.
The opening ceremony was attended by YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, and YB Dato Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of Kuching South City Council. Business partners, customers, and invited guests were also present for the occasion. A drive-off ceremony was held for new Zeekr owners in Sarawak, recognizing early customers who committed to the brand ahead of the official retail opening in East Malaysia.
The pop-up store is positioned as the first step in Zeekr’s longer-term East Malaysia strategy – the brand is targeting the opening of a dedicated Zeekr Space Kuching (1S Centre) and a Zeekr Service Centre Kuching in Q1 2027, which will provide integrated sales and aftersales support for customers in the region. In the interim, Zeekr Malaysia has rolled out its Mobile Service program across East Malaysia, covering essential maintenance and vehicle inspection services for existing owners while permanent facilities are established.
