Hence, YouTube is stepping in: the Google-owned video-sharing platform is now mandating users to declare any content that contains AI-generated effects, such as voice cloning and face swapping (or deepfakes). The disclosure was announced last November, though the requirement was not fully enforced until now. Any content that is declared with AI-generated content will see a small banner denoting “Altered or synthetic content.”
