ASUS today unveils two new models under its ROG Strix lineup (not to be confused with ROG Swift) – the ROG Strix XG27UCS and the ROG Strix XG27ACS (and its white-colored counterpart). Both deliver resolutions up to 4K 160Hz and 1440p 180Hz respectively, with 1ms response time via Fast IPS panel. Both models also support G-SYNC compatibility, as well as DisplayHDR 400 certification.

One of the biggest design changes of these two monitors is the stand – and it’s a revisit to some of the earlier monitor models offered by the company. Unlike the Y-spoke design that virtually all modern ROG monitors use today, the new ROG Strixes features a flat base featured in previous designs, with the addition of a slot acting as an integrated phone holder.

In terms of I/O, both models feature DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and USB-C with Power Delivery for a single-cable solution for laptops. Oddly, the XG27UCS doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 which is needed for 4K high-refresh resolutions – so you’ll have to stick to DisplayPort with DSC (display stream compression) to get the most out of the 4K panel.

For availability, the ROG Strix XG27ACS is now available on Lazada and Shopee for RM1,699 in both black and white versions; while the XG27UCS is set to release in the near future with a US MSRP of $449).
