We’re in Sunny Singapore for the launch of the POCO F7 series, and we have the POCO F7 Ultra in our hands. While we’re not sure if we have the time to review it, we’re going to at least do an unboxing and first impressions of it here so without further ado, let’s dive right into it.
POCO F7 Ultra Unboxing

Starting off with the unboxing, the POCO F7 Ultra comes in a black packaging with the model name and logo in the brand’s signature yellow color. It’s somewhat minimalistic if you excuse the font size as you won’t get much details on the features as they aren’t listed around the box, save for the “Powered by Xiaomi HyperOS” label on the side. Inside, we found the following items:

- USB-A to USB-C cable
- 120W charger
- SIM ejector pin
- Protective case
- Documentations
- The POCO F7 Ultra itself
First Impressions

For our review unit, we received the yellow POCO F7 Ultra colorway, with the rear in particular having a double-texture finish. Two-thirds of the phone’s rear, specially towards the bottom, is matte while the remaining on third, which is where the camera housing is located, is glossy. The material itself feels like plastic, especially since it has a bit of a hollow sound when knocking on the matted area. The frame itself is constructed from metal, and it’s easy to tell as it feels a whole lot more solid. You can find the power button and volume rocker on the right side while the SIM card tray, USB-C port, and speaker grille can be found on the bottom.

Flipping it over to the front and you get a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with WQHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and rather thin bezels. You can lower the resolution to conserve battery life but just like its refresh rate, you can choose to allow the device to dynamically switch between settings for the best in viewing experience along with optimal battery efficiency. The under-display fingerprint scanner used here is an ultrasonic type.

As usual with POCO phones pushing the limits of performance at affordable prices, the POCO F7 Ultra is powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite. This immediately puts it on par with this year’s flagships such as the Galaxy S25 series, HONOR Magic7 Pro, and the Xiaomi 15 series. It’s also mated to 16GBs of RAM along with 512GB storage, so memory configuration for our unit is certainly excellent. What I’m more worried now is on how the device is planning to keep the chip cooled down since every smartphone running the chip thus far suffers from massive thermal throttling issues.
Despite it being priced on the lower side, it still manages to cram in a good amount of connectivity options. This includes dual band Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a good array of GPS types, NFC, infrared, and USB-C 2.0. To keep you all juiced up, the POCO F7 Ultra supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, with a 120W charger being included in the box so you don’t have to buy a dedicated charger to make full use of the speed.
