ASUS has announced the Turbo Radeon AI Pro R9700 graphics card for workstation users, featuring two-slot blower-style cooling form factor for systems with multi-GPUs setups, or specific SFF (small form factor) PC builds. Despite being a workstation model, it has a minor factory overclock just like what you find in gaming cards as well.

Inside this graphics card is the AMD Radeon AI Pro R9700 GPU, which is Radeon RX 9070 XT’s workstation equivalent, sharing same core counts (4096 SPs, 64 CUs), memory bus width (256-bit GDDR6), with similar power draw (304W vs 300W) and core clocks. Of course, being a workstation GPU, the R9700 is equipped with 32GB of GDDR6 for large projects and AI/LLM training.

The benefit of blower-style fans in workstation setups is that hot air always escapes the PC case, meaning no recycled hot air like a conventional axial-based design, and that gets you consistent thermals. For this card, ASUS says the diecast backplate “features unique wave patterns and folds that can reduce memory temperature by up to 16%.” Perhaps surprisingly, power is delivered via a single 12V-2×6 connector, while there are three DisplayPort 2.1a outputs along with a HDMI 2.1b output for display duties.

ASUS says the Turbo Radeon AI Pro R9700 graphics card is now available in Malaysia, and while the company didn’t directly announce the pricing, we have seen one listing revealing the price of RM6,849 apiece.

Pokdepinion: I guess 12V-2×6 makes sense given the lack of space in blower GPU designs, although two 8-pins doesn’t really eat that much space, does it?
