ChatGPT users in Malaysia will now be offered with a new subscription tier named ChatGPT Go, which OpenAI says is aimed at providing wider access to its AI tools at a lower cost. This new tier is the cheapest option available (at RM38.99/month) for users who wants a bit more capabilities than what a standard free tier would offer.
ChatGPT Go Open To Malaysians

ChatGPT Go subscribers will gain access to the latest GPT-5 model, along with 10x higher message limits, 10x image generations and file uploads per day, and doubled memory capacity to further tailor users’ responses. This new subscription tier will co-exist below ChatGPT Plus (RM99.90/month) and ChatGPT Pro (RM999.90/month) plans.
OpenAI says this tier “builds on strong momentum for cost-friendly subscriptions in the region,” and cited its success in India having doubled the subscriber count since the introduction of Go tier. Malaysia is among 18 countries in Asia to receive the new plan as part of OpenAI’s regional rollout, with all of the Southeast Asian countries – bar Singapore – gaining access to this plan.
Users can sign up through chatgpt.com or the ChatGPT mobile app on iOS and Android, and payments can be made via credit card on the web or through in-app purchases on respective mobile platforms (OpenAI also hints that it is looking for more options in the future). Those on existing plans can simply make the switch via Settings, if required.
