Garena and KADOKAWA have officially titled the upcoming Free Fire anime adaptation as Free Fire Daybreak, and it’s heading to streaming platforms worldwide in Spring 2027. The anime now has its own dedicated social media channels in X (in Japanese), TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
Free Fire Daybreak
Free Fire Daybreak is set in the near-future city of New Dawn, governed by the powerful Horizon Corporation. The story centers on 16-year-old Kelly, who becomes entangled in a secretive experiment called “Project Bloom” and awakens an extraordinary ability known as “Limit Break”, described as a power capable of unlocking anything that has been sealed away.
As Kelly’s fragmented memories begin to return, she teams up with newfound allies to expose the conspiracy behind Horizon Corporation and protect the future of New Dawn. Familiar Free Fire characters Hayato and Moco also appear as part of the central cast. “Reflected within the shattered glass fragments is a glimpse of Kelly after awakening a special ability,” according to the company, which hints at the “transformation that awaits her.”
The series is a co-production between Garena and KADOKAWA, with animation handled by studio CANDYBOX. Ken Takahashi serves as director, with Hotaru Asafuji handling series composition and screenplay. Music composition is by Kouji Fujimoto of Sus4 Inc.
Pokdepinion: Cyberpunk 2077 proved this could work, although it remains to be seen if this can be replicated elsewhere.
