The Pokemon Company has announced that Part 1 of the paid DLC for Pokemon Pokopia, titled Bubbly Basin, will be released on this Wednesday, plus additional details about Part 2 of the Expansion Pass. A free software update, Ver. 2.0.0, will be released on the same day as the paid DLC.
Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 1 Arrives August 5

Bubbly Basin introduces a new underwater town accessible with the Pokemon Popplio and Ditto. Players can develop the town by completing requests from Pokemon encountered underwater. The DLC adds buoyant blocks, which allow players to construct floating buildings at different underwater levels, and bubble machines that can be powered using Pokemon with the Generate specialty, such as Chinchou.
Additional content includes new furniture designed for underwater rooms, along with new outfits, Pokemon, a power-up for the move Surf and a new prepared food item, smoothies. Players who obtain a Starmie doll can access a previously unavailable area called Dream Island, which supports multiplayer swimming activities.
The accompanying Ver. 2.0.0 free software update introduces Dive, a new move taught by the Pokemon Manaphy that allows underwater movement. Learning Dive requires completing the request “Raise the environment level” in Bleak Beach and already knowing the moves Surf and jump. The update also includes an in-game event called “Fetching Scales for Feebas,” running from August 13 to August 28, 2026, during which players can collect prism scales to befriend the Pokemon Feebas and Milotic.

Part 2 of the Expansion Pass, scheduled for late 2026, will introduce wearable accessories for Pokemon along with additional furniture and Pokemon, though no new town will be added in this installment. Part 3, planned for 2027, is expected to include a new town along with further Pokemon and furniture additions.
Players who purchase the Expansion Pass can claim a Dynamic Ditto print recipe for crafting blocks and wallpaper, following the release of the Ver. 1.1.0 update. Purchases made by August 31, 2027, also include a bonus of 30 rare Pokemetal ingots, redeemable through a serial code sent to the buyer’s registered Nintendo Account email and claimable via the in-game Mystery Gifts feature.
The Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass is available for purchase on Nintendo eShop, the Nintendo Store and the official Nintendo Store app. Part 1 (Bubbly Basin) releases 5 August 2026, Part 2 is scheduled for late 2026, and Part 3 is planned for 2027. The base game requires application of the Ver. 2.0.0 free software update, which may require up to 7.1 GB of storage space, before the Bubbly Basin DLC can be played.
Pokdepinion: That’s content sorted for the next several months at least, though would there be more along the way?
