Honor of Kings has rolled out its September 2026 update, introducing the Honor Royale Beta mode, two new Flowborn Classes, a new mid-lane hero, and a fresh summoner skill. The update also marks the return of Honor of Kings to the 2026 Asian Games as an official esports event, with national teams competing from 27 to 28 September.
Honor Of Kings September Update
This update brings all five Flowborn Classes together for the first time – two new classes, Flowborn (Assassin) and Flowborn (Roamer), are available for free starting 23 September. A new mid-lane hero, Wang Wei, is set to arrive on 8 October, obtainable for 13,888 Gold or 588 Vouchers, with a 50% discount on Vouchers during the first week of availability. A second new hero, Dunshan, was also referenced in the update announcement alongside Wang Wei as part of this content drop.
Meanwhile, Honor Royale Beta is a new 2v2v2v2 battle royale game mode where four teams of two compete to be the last team standing. Each match is capped at three minutes, making it a quick-play format suited to casual PvP sessions. Players spawn at one of four corners of the map and must eliminate opponents while staying within a shrinking Safe Zone; monsters and chests are scattered across the map, and defeating them rewards Runes that upgrade a character’s stats while restoring health and energy.
Downed players drop two Runes and can respawn beside a surviving teammate after 10 seconds. A team is only eliminated when both members are defeated. At the 90-second mark, a boss named Caesar appears at the map’s center, and defeating it grants a shield and adds a lightning effect to attacks. Each round also features unique random events to keep matches varied.
Alongside Honor Royale, the update introduces a new summoner skill called Flow State. When activated, it instantly halves the cooldown of all skills and summons a Flowborn weapon matched to the hero’s primary role. The skill has a cooldown of 100 seconds.
Support heroes summon the Flow Guqin to heal allies and damage enemies; Mages summon the Flow Artifact for sustained magic damage and a 30% slow; Tank and Warrior heroes summon the Flow Shield for physical damage and a knock-up; Marksmen summon the Flow Crossbow for three hits with a knock-back on the first; and Assassins summon Flow Claws to dash at a target and deal true damage equal to 16% of the target’s missing HP.
Two new ranking systems are also part of this update. Path to Honor begins at Grandmaster tier and rewards players with a prestige reward for every 10 stars earned beyond 10 stars. The Weekly Hero Challenge generates three missions each week with varying difficulty, completed using an assigned hero in ranked matches to earn bonus tier points. High-difficulty missions require a win to claim rewards.
Honor Of Kings At The 2026 Asian Games
Honor of Kings returns as an official esports event at the 2026 Asian Games, with competition running from 27 to 28 September; this marks the second consecutive Asian Games to feature the title. National teams from 10 countries and regions will compete on a dedicated Asian Games build with a roster of 85 heroes. The tournament begins with a Group Stage using best-of-three round-robin matches, followed by a best-of-three single-elimination Knockout Stage. The Grand Final is played as a best-of-seven.
In-game events tied to the Asian Games run from 23 to 28 September. Players can collect national team card sets to unlock a Sticker, Avatar Frame, and a Title; new Asian Games themed skins are also available through in-game tasks and direct purchase. From 25 to 29 September, players can complete matches to claim a free community-created voice pack, with each region’s top lines voiced by local artists and influencers.
