Razer has announced the Razer Mako line of compact desktop gaming speakers, comprising two models: Razer Mako and Razer Mako X. Unlike the Nommo series which has a larger set of stereo units and an even bigger subwoofer unit, the Mako is noticeably smaller for those who have limited desk space.
Razer Mako Desktop Gaming Speakers
The Razer Mako is the flagship of the two with a 2.1-channel configuration – it pairs custom-tuned 2.75-inch full-range drivers with a dedicated forward-firing 3.5-inch subwoofer, delivering 40W RMS and 60W peak output. Frequency response reaches down to 45Hz at the low end, and an angled desktop design projects sound toward ear level. The speaker also supports 7.1 virtual surround sound to widen the soundstage.
Connectivity is handled through a single USB-C cable for both power and audio, with Bluetooth 5.3 and a 3.5mm jack as additional options. Though as you may have noticed with the speaker’s RMS output figure, you’ll need a more capable USB-C cable to unlock their full capabilities. Specifically, you’ll need ones that work with 45W or higher wattage. For RGB lighting, you get rear-projection lighting out of the speakers.
The Razer Mako X, meanwhile, takes the same concept into a 2.0-channel setup. It uses the same 2.75-inch full-range drivers but replaces the external subwoofer with built-in passive radiators that extend low-end response inside the chassis. Output is rated at 30W RMS and 45W peak, with frequency response starting at 60Hz; it can also run on standard USB power at up to 15W, along with Bluetooth and 3.5mm options available. For lighting, the Mako X features 10-zone Razer Chroma RGB underglow that casts a soft glow beneath the speakers.
Pricing & Availability
The Razer Mako X is priced at RM449 and will be available from 6 October 2026 at Razer.com, RazerStores, and select retailers worldwide. The Razer Mako is priced at USD149.99 (Malaysian pricing has not been announced), though and is scheduled to arrive in December 2026 through the same channels.
