Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3, titled “Journey to the Sky”, launches on 21 October, introducing two new S-Rank Agents, a new mech combat mode, and a series of seasonal events and system changes. The main story follows the lockdown of the sky island of Roscaelifer, which forces Judge Phoenix and Commissioner Severian into an uneasy alliance as the Proxy investigates the Karma Cores of the three Sunbringers.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 Update Highlights
New Agents: Phoenix & Severian

S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent Phoenix debuts in the first half of the version, alongside the S-Rank W-Engine Plume of Rebirth. As the second-in-command of the Krampus Compliance Authority, she uses the Core Skill Nirvana, which sears enemies afflicted by an Anomaly so that subsequent Anomaly damage can trigger critical hits. If she suffers a fatal strike, she can trigger Rebirth to revive on the spot with full health.

S-Rank Wind Attack Agent Severian, a senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security, arrives in the second half with the S-Rank W-Engine Incarcerating Grip. His Core Skill, Endless Breeze, lets him automatically dodge an incoming attack and counterattack, while successful dodges or specific skill hits build Energy for continuous slashes. Reruns include S-Rank Agent Velina with the W-Engine Joyau Dore in the first half, followed by Norma with the W-Engine Chief Sidekick in the second half.
Phoenix’s two new outfits are offered as a bundle at a limited-time 30% discount, while Severian’s everyday uniform, Solemnly Impeccable, will arrive with his Signal Search channel. Both Agents also receive new avatars, dynamic wallpapers and trust events, and a new sidebar theme and pendant can be claimed through the in-game New Eridu City Fund. Reruns include S-Rank Agent Velina with the W-Engine Joyau Dore in the first half, followed by Norma with the W-Engine Chief Sidekick in the second half.
New Mech Combat, Events and System Optimizations
The main story introduces mech combat, in which Lindverne uses her Karma Core power, Genesis Reconstruction, to create High Ambitions Corp combat mechs for Proxies to pilot. The mechs can switch between melee and ranged modes, and can unleash a more powerful laser attack after an EX Special Attack or a dodge. Environmental interactions, such as shooting explosives or punching heavy objects, also factor into combat and puzzles. The permanent mode Enigma of the Labyrinth also receives a seasonal update, Spooky Trial, featuring a three-round progressive challenge.
Version events include “Night of Supernatural Tricks”, which features the HIA Club VR game “Spooky Funhouse Tales” and rewards such as the Angels of Delusion outfit and a new A-Rank W-Engine. Other events are “Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty!”, “Trails of the Hobbling Crow” and “Repair! Drifting Art”, alongside the returning Area Patrol and Combat Simulation double-drop events.
System changes include a team recommendation function from Fairy that suggests lineups and strategies based on a Proxy’s roster, with one-click application to a preset config. Some Agents gain exclusive tutorial videos, certain permanent combat modes offer challenge tips during Squad Configuration, and Inter-Knot Reputation promotion benefits are displayed more clearly. Proxies can also claim a total of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons from the version’s check-in events.
Pokdepinion: Mech combat in Zenless Zone Zero sounds fun, but pilots are really just here for the Phoenix banner.
