Crunchyroll is bringing the talent behind Overgeared to Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2026, with Japanese voice actor Tatsumaru Tachibana, director Ayako Kono, and executive producer Nobuhiro Osawa set to appear at the event. The festival runs from 27 to 29 November 2026 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, with the special guest appearance scheduled for Saturday, 28 November.
This marks Crunchyroll’s fourth consecutive year participating in AFA Singapore. Alongside the guest appearance, the streaming platform will also run an interactive experience at its booth throughout all three festival days.
Overgeared Panel, Live Reading and Meet-and-Greet on 28 November
On 28 November, the Overgeared cast and creative team will take to the NEXT Stage from 1pm to 1.45pm for a special AFA Day Stage panel. During the session, guests will share insights into the making of the anime, and a live reading will give fans a fresh way to experience the characters. A separate meet-and-greet session will follow from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Meeting Room 332. Entry is ticketed, with tickets redeemable at the Crunchyroll booth (J01) on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ayako Kono previously served as an episode director on Love Live! at Sunrise and assistant director on After the Rain at WIT STUDIO, before directing the Sword Art Online the Movie Progressive series. Overgeared marks her debut as a TV anime director. Nobuhiro Osawa is the President of EGG FIRM Inc. and has served as chief producer on titles including Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Sword Art Online, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
Tatsumaru Tachibana began his career in stage and musical theatre before making his voice acting debut in Case File no.221: Kabukicho. He has since voiced Eisaku Ohtomo in Aoashi, Basen in The Apothecary Diaries, and Gregory Violet in Black Butler: Public School Arc.
At booth J01, fans can take on a larger-than-life puzzle wall inspired by Grid’s craftsmanship from Overgeared. After completing the weapon-assembly challenge, visitors can pose at a 3D photo installation featuring Grid. Those who finish the challenge will receive a specially designed Pagma’s Rare Book notebook, while stocks last.
Pokdepinion: A free notebook for solving a puzzle is a pretty solid deal, honestly.
