The entry-level DJI Mini 2 SE has arrived in Malaysia. The drone boasts several upgrades such as improved flight range and other features. It has a rather familiar design, similar to the 2021 model and the original DJI Mavic Mini from 2019. Its dimensions and weight remain unchanged at 249g, and it still boasts a foldable form factor for easy storage.

The drone is equipped with a 1/2.3-inch 12 MP CMOS sensor and a 3-axis gimbal-mounted camera. The onboard imaging system offers video recording at 2.7K resolution at 30 frames per second with an increased bitrate of 100 Mbps, and now includes digital zoom at 4x for 1080p footage, 3x for 2.7K resolution, and 2x for photos. The QuickShots features such as Dronie, Rocket, Circle, and Helix have returned, and new Boomerang and Panorama modes have been added.

One of the key improvements of the Mini 2 SE is its significantly increased range of 10 km, compared to the 4 km limit of the 2021 model. This improvement is due to the integration of DJI’s OcuSync 2.0 technology, which is a significant upgrade over the Mini SE’s Wi-Fi transmission. Additionally, the Mini 2 SE has a higher maximum altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level, increased speed limits for S, N, and C modes at 16 m/s, 10 m/s, and 6 m/s respectively, Level 5 wind resistance, and a slightly longer flight time of 31 minutes on a full charge.

The DJI Mini 2 SE is now available via their official stores, authorized resellers, and online stores on Shopee and Lazada. The drone will be retailing for RM1,599, while the Fly More Combo, which includes additional accessories and parts, is available for RM2,149.

Pokdepinion; Might get this for fun since it’s relatively affordable for what you’re getting. Would like to practice some aerial shots for some video-related projects.
