Last week, Lenovo UK’s webpage for its Legion Go handheld briefly mentioned specs that seemingly pointed to a new “Lite” variant that features a 7-inch display, HDMI port, and a dual-fan cooling system. However, signs were pointing to such information being a product of AI “hallucinating”. While unconfirmed, the information was swiftly taken off.
Legion Go Lite: Still Unconfirmed
So is the information real? Forbes took the question to Lenovo themselves to get an official response, which ends up being as PR-friendly of a response as you can get:
The FAQ section in question contained incorrect information pertaining to the 1st generation Lenovo Legion Go, and thanks to our eagle-eyed Legion fans it was brought to our attention and subsequently removed. We are very happy to see the Legion fanbase paying rapt attention to Lenovo Legion updates and while we cannot comment on the possibility of future announcements, we can promise that we are working on bringing the coolest new gaming innovations to our fans around the world.
Lenovo responding to Forbes
In short, Lenovo didn’t confirm nor deny the existence of the Legion Go “Lite”, but leaks from several months ago does suggest that such device exists. In any case, a follow-up device is likely to be revealed soon enough as competitors like ASUS has recently launched the ROG Ally X with upgraded specs, so a watered-down version of its handheld that undercuts the price of ROG Ally may prove to be beneficial.
