Two separate sources, Windows Central and WinFuture (via Videocardz), have obtained latest leaks on Lenovo’s upcoming Legion Go S handheld, pertaining to its design and internal specs, respectively. Purportedly a cheaper alternative to the brand’s Legion Go handheld, this model will see some cut-down specs and a lower price tag.
Lenovo Legion Go S Leaked
Let’s start with the design of the handheld – the general shape is a big departure from the more angular Legion Go, and gone is the detachable controllers to (presumably) save costs. It also features two large intake cutouts on the rear, though the top view indicates a single-fan setup. Speaking of which, the top reveals a pair of USB-C ports, plus what looks like a headphone jack, followed by the volume buttons and the power button.
In terms of specs, WinFuture has revealed a new name for the CPU powering the Legion Go S – Ryzen Z2 Go. Previously referred as “Ryzen Z2G”, this chip will feature Zen3+ (Rembrandt) cores with 3.0GHz base clock, paired with Radeon 680M onboard GPU with 12 Compute Units. Performance-wise, this should land in between Ryzen 7 6800H and 6800U.
Other specs include 8-inch FHD+ IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate, 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB SSD (in M.2 2242 form factor), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a 55.5Wh battery. A bit of a bummer with the 2242 form factor, since other handhelds can fit the standard 2280 form factor, which is vastly more common and cheaper per GB.
It’s possible that Lenovo may reveal the Legion Go S officially as soon as CES 2025, which kicks off this coming January. We should know the official availability and pricing information by then – and we should able to see what AMD is launching for its handheld-bound Ryzen Z2 series as well.
