Both models are virtually identical aside from enterprise-focused features such as remote management.

Acer has revealed the new Chromebook Spin 714 (and its Enterprise namesake), both powered by the same hardware apart from CPU, with the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 714 getting Intel Core i7 vPro CPUs while the standard models run on standard Intel Core i7 models. CPU differences aside – both models receives Intel Evo certification which means up to 10 hours of battery life, and fast charging capabilities that provide 4 hours of usage with 30 minute charging.

The display, which supports a 360-degree hinge, is a 14-inch 16:10 FHD+ panel with 100% sRGB coverage. Covering it is the antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass which protects against scratches and “odor-causing bacteria”. Both models also feature optional USI stylus support with 4096-level pressure sensitivity and tilt detection for natural note taking.

Acer gave the Chromebooks a fairly advanced webcam capable of QHD resolution. It’s assisted by temporal noise reduction to maintain picture quality; meanwhile, a physical shutter is available to physically block the camera’s functions. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Like other models, the device consists of PCR plastics with the laptop packaging made entirely using recyclable materials.

Both models are currently set for launch in EMEA and NA regions starting in May – no word on local availability just yet.

Pokdepinion: By Chromebook standards, the hardware is fairly solid.
