New Acer Swift X and Acer Chromebook 713 Is Here To Boost Your Productivity
At the [email protected] Global Press Conference 2021, we were shown a number of new laptops that will be coming our way soon. In this case, it’s to maximize your productivity within a versatile, portable package. It’s the Acer Swift X, Acer Chromebook Spin 713, and Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713.
New Acer Swift X
For those who prioritize on portability but don’t want to sacrifice on performance too much, the Acer Swift X might just be the solution for you. You can have it powered by up to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. As for memory, you can have it configured with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and 2TB SSD storage.
The display is a 14-inch Full HD IPS with 85.7% screen-to-body ratio, 300 nits brightness, and 100% sRGB. It makes use of USB Type-C for data transfer, video streaming, and charging. They’ve improved the thermals of this new iteration of the Acer Swift X with an air inlet keyboard design, which is said to expel up to 10% more heat, and stereo ring with inclined plane sitting for up to 10% more airflow.
They’ve somehow managed to fit all of these into an ultraportable package, measuring in at just 17.9mm thin and 1.39kg light. At the moment, pricing and availability for Malaysia has yet to be announced so stay tuned for further updates.
Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713
For those who prefer the simplicity of Chrome OS, we have the world’s first Intel Evo platform-verified Chromebooks, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 and Chromebook Enterprise Spin 713. They’re powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU and also comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports that can be used for data transfer, connect to external displays, and charging. Speaking of charging, you can get up to 4 hours of use with just a 30-minute charging period, and the battery life is said to be up to 10 hours longs for a full charge.
The new Chromebooks make use of a 13.5-inch VertiView display with a 2256 x 1504 resolution. It’s said to give more vertical screen space, about 18% more, compared to traditional laptop displays. To further boost the multimedia experience, you get DTS Audio with built-in smart amplifier for a better audio experience.
Not to forget, these machines are very portable as they weigh a mere 1.37kg and is 16.9mm thin. This doesn’t mean they’re fragile however as the aluminum chassis is durable enough to meet the military-grade MIL-STD 810H standard. With a 360° hinge, you have the added versatility of using it as a regular laptop, a tablet, tent, display mode, or any angles in between. Furthermore, the optional fingerprint scanner makes the device secure with convenience.

Pokdepinion: That Acer Swift X looks to be a pretty solid option for young adults, especially those transitioning from studying to a working environment. The versatility and lightness makes it easy to bring around for productivity, and the performance is still plenty if you want to game on it, at least on paper. Can’t wait to try it out myself.
