ASUS Malaysia announces new ZenBook and VivoBook powered by 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors
ASUS Malaysia has just announced five new laptops powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core processors, or what’s probably more fondly known as Tiger Lake. While Tiger Lake does bring better performance thanks to the latest Willow Cove CPU cores and Intel Xe graphics, ASUS adds their twist to it by implementing what they call ASUS Intelligent Performance Technology (AIPT) which unlocks the full potential of Tiger Lake. More on that later. For today, ASUS unveiled the refreshed ASUS ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14, as well as the VivoBook S15, VivoBook 14 and VivoBook 15.

Targeted towards the youths, the new ASUS VivoBooks powered by the 11th Gen Intel Core processors also come in more colors like Gaia Green, Resolute Red, Indie Black, Dreamy Silver, Hearty Gold and Transparent Silver.
ASUS continued the color-blocking Enter key theme to make the keyboard more interesting on the ASUS VivoBooks. There are some differences between the VivoBook S15 and VivoBook 14 and 15 models. The ASUS VivoBook S15 is the more premium option, with a textured metal finish. ASUS also equipped it with Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.
Aside from that, all the ASUS VivoBooks are powered by the same Intel Core i5-1135G7, and they also pack the AIPT technology to take performance up a notch. For those who want a bit more graphics performance they can also opt for the ASUS VivoBook 15 which comes with a NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU.
ASUS Intelligent Performance Technology
ASUS claims up to 40% better performance with AIPT than a standard 10th Gen Intel Core configuration, thanks to the ability to sustain higher boost levels. AIPT does more than just simply raising the power limit to 28W, as it also gets feedback from various sensors around the system to provide an optimal user experience at all times. One of them is an accelerometer, that lowers system temperatures when it detects that you are picking it up, so that you don’t accidentally toast your fingertips on the bottom of your laptop.
Speaking of which, the cooling also had to be improved to enable AIPT to deliver these higher levels of performance. ASUS used 8mm heatpipes and a fan with 87 fan blades to increase the overall heat dissipation capability of the system, while also allowing it to run more quietly, depending on your needs. AIPT comes in three modes, Whisper, Balanced and Performance mode, all of which are pretty self-explanatory.

ASUS ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14
The ASUS ZenBook 13 (UX325) and ZenBook 14 (UX425) which we reviewed with the 10th Gen Intel Core processors see a refresh with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors. The exact laptops have been carried over, with the exception of the new Thunderbolt 4 support on them instead of Thunderbolt 3. The ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 are unique in the way that they offer full I/O ports like a full-sized HDMI and USB 3.0 ports despite their ultra-thin design, but doesn’t come with a headphone jack.
Also new to the 11th Gen-powered ASUS ZenBooks is AI Noise-Cancelling Audio, presumably powered by the upgraded AI capabilities that Intel packed into the Tiger Lake processors. ASUS claims that it is capable of not only cleaning up the audio picked up by the microphones to help you get the message across better, but also to remove noise picked up from the other end. Pretty interesting stuff and we would definitely love to test this out.
