ASUS ZenBook 13 (UX325) And ZenBook 14 (UX425) Announced From RM3999
The latest ASUS ZenBook 13 (UX325) and ZenBook 14 (UX425) ultraportables have just launched here in Malaysia. These laptops pack the Intel Ice Lake processors for for some great performance in the thin-and-light segment. In fact, they are the world’s thinnest 13″ and 14″ laptops with full I/O ports, which is saying something.
It’s really quite easy to just offer a couple of USB-C ports and call it a day with ultraportables, considering the size of the USB-C ports. ASUS went the extra mile to cram in not only a full-sized USB 3.0 port, but also a HDMI 2.0 one, so you don’t have to carry dongles or adapters for that. But you do need a dongle to use a 3.5mm jacks, because apparently the 3.5mm port is too big to cram into the side of the laptop.
It’s almost forgivable, as the laptop is razor thin at just 13.9mm at its thickest point. Another area that’s really thin are the bezels around the screen. The ASUS ZenBook 14 (UX425) offers a 90% screen-to-body ratio with slim 2.5mm bezels, while the Zenbook 13 (UX325) serves up a 88% screen-to-body ratio and 2.9mm bezels. For those of you worried about the webcam positioning with those slim bezels, ASUS managed to cram an IR facial recognition system and the webcam above the display.
