This CES 2025, Acer has brought along several new products in its Nitro and Predator gaming portfolio ranging from new laptops to handhelds, as well as a new gaming monitor. In this article, we’ll go through all of the new gaming products announced in this event. (Click here to see the non-gaming product announcements.)

Gaming Laptops

Starting things off with the new Predator laptops: the Helios 16 AI comes with Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, and top configurations include NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU (TGP unspecified), 64GB DDR5-6400 RAM and 4TB of PCIe 5.0 SSD (combined). Its display is a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz OLED panel with 400 nits brightness and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus support. This heavyweight-class gaming laptop also packs a quad-speaker audio, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, 5GbE LAN, and dual Thunderbolt 5 ports.

Moving on to its larger, 18-inch sibling – the Helios 18 AI pushes the maximum specs to the limits starting with the display. This laptop comes with either a 4K+ 120Hz or QHD+ 250Hz panel, both being Mini-LED panels and HDR-capable with 1000 nits of peak brightness; CPU is the same CU9 275HX found on the 16-inch model, while GPU options include RTX 5090. Memory and storage can be expanded up to 192GB DDR5-6400 and 6TB combined, respectively.

For the third model, the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI represents the thin-and-light in the gaming laptop realm, with 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz OLED panels, CU9 275HX processor plus RTX 5070 Ti GPU combination, 32GB of DDR5-6400 RAM and up to 2TB SSD onboard. Interestingly, this laptop is opting for previous-generation AeroBlade fans (specifically, the 5th Gen) for cooling, but it’s hard to say what thermal performance looks like given the lack of TGP rating for the laptop’s GPU.

Under the budget Nitro V series, Acer has introduced five new models: Nitro V 17 AI, Nitro V 16 AI, Nitro V 15 AI, Nitro V 15, and Nitro V 14 AI. All laptops have mostly identical specs outside of the display itself, with same 76Wh battery, up to 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, up to 2TB SSD, and all powered by the same NVIDIA RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. CPU options differ, however: the 17-, 16-, and 14-inch laptops all feature either the new Ryzen AI 7 350 or Ryzen AI 5 340 processor, while the Nitro V 15 AI gets the previous-gen Ryzen 8000 series options. Meanwhile, the Nitro V 15 instead gets the Intel Core 7 240H or Core 5 210H for its CPU.

Gaming Handhelds

Acer has announced two new gaming handhelds, though both models are functionally identical to each other. For the 8-inch Nitro Blaze 8, you have a QHD+ IPS touch panel rated for 144Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness; the Nitro Blaze 11 instead gets the 10.95-inch QHD+ IPS touch panel with 120Hz refresh rate and same 500 nits brightness.

Aside from that, everything internally is identical: same AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, same 16GB LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, up to 2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E, and 55Wh battery onboard. Oddly, Acer’s spec sheets says the 8-inch will be provided with a 65W charger, while the 11-inch gets the 100W charger in the packaging instead. Weight is on the heavy side, with the 8-inch tipping the scales at 720 grams, and the bigger model is listed as 1.05kg.

Additionally, Acer also announced its mobile handheld controller for smartphones. The Acer Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller is plug-and-play, and works with devices up to 8.3-inches; it also comes with pass-through charging support to enable charging while the controller is attached.

Monitors

Along with the laptops and handhelds, Acer is also announcing the new Predator XB323QK gaming monitor with a 5K (5120 x 2880) resolution at 144Hz refresh rate for its IPS panel – quite unusual in gaming monitors. This is four times the resolution of QHD, and for that the monitor is equipped with Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) to switch the monitor into QHD 288Hz mode. The panel response time is rated at 0.5 milliseconds, and it also supports the new NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar standard that enables variable refresh rate even under backlight strobing modes.

Availability

No local availability has been announced, though the majority of devices announced here will only be introduced globally in Q2 2025. The only model launching early is the Nitro V 15 AI that, according to Acer, will launch this month in EMEA regions – other regions likely will follow soon.
