[Computex 2024] Acer To Equip Swift Series With AMD Ryzen AI 300 Processors

AMD just announced the new Ryzen AI 300 series processors earlier today, which brings the new “Zen 5” core architecture, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and a new XDNA 2 NPU that promises big performance, which also qualifies for Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC standard. Acer today announces that its Swift line of laptops will soon feature these chips.

“With AMD, we are delivering more AI-enabled experiences to our customers with unprecedented power and performance. In the coming months, we are excited to announce new systems powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors,” said Jerry Kao, Chief Operating Officer of Acer.

A quick recap – AMD’s new Ryzen AI 300 series is a major revamp over the previous generation with a brand new naming system, which now follows the generation of NPU (counting the Ryzen 7040 series as first, and 8040 series as second). This is why the number starts at 300 – though some may argue it’s a marketing tactic to show bigger numbers over its arch-rival, Intel.

Acer hasn’t released any further announcements on when these new laptops will arrive, but we should know about them soon enough.

Pokdepinion: Hopefully battery life is solid on this one.
