[Computex 2024] ASUS Brings ROG Zephyrus G16 GA605 & More AI-Enabled Laptops

ASUS is bringing several new laptops in Computex 2024, and the theme is evidently revolving around AI capabilities more than the rest of the spec sheet. Leading the pack is the new variant of the ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop, which packs AMD’s new Ryzen AI 300 series processor just announced by the chipmaker earlier today.

Starting off with the new Zephyrus G16 (GA605), the new ultra-thin gaming laptop features the new AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with 12 (4+8) cores and 24 threads, 16 RDNA 3.5 CUs (Radeon 890M), and 50 TOPS XDNA 2 NPU. The chip is paired with the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with peak TGP of 105W – all combined, these will deliver a combined AI computational power of 402 TOPS, though it’s not exactly straightforward to quantify NPU performance at this point.

Elsewhere, you get up to 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, up to 2TB+2TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7, a 16-inch QHD+240Hz OLED with 100% DCI-P3 and Dolby Vision support, plus USB4 support compatible with Thunderbolt devices. It also gets 90Wh battery and a new SD Express 7.0 slot that promises up to gigabyte-per-second of speeds.

Outside of the ROG brand, ASUS is also releasing AI laptops in all of its major product lines, including TUF Gaming, Vivobook, Zenbook, and ProArt. Most of the new models will be powered by the same Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip found in the aforementioned Zephyrus laptop, though there are a select few models released with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite SoCs unveiled last month.

Starting with ProArt – three laptops are announced today under this product line, namely the ProArt P16, ProArt PX13, and ProArt PZ13. The 16-inch is a traditional clamshell laptop, whereas the PX13 is a 2-in-1, while the ultra-light PZ13 is based on the tablet form factor (weighs just 0.85kg). Both the P16 and PX13 will be powered by Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 combined with RTX 4070, while the PZ13 is powered by Snapdragon X Elite, and features IP52 ingress protection.

For productivity laptops, ASUS offers the Zenbook S 16 (UM5606) and Vivobook S (S5507), the latter of which was previously unveiled alongside Snapdragon’s launch in May. The Zenbook laptop is a new model featuring the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, with a vapor chamber cooling system capable of cooling in noise levels lower than 25dB. The laptop also features a new material on the lid called “Ceraluminum” – essentially a combination of ceramic and aluminum. Additionally, the same chip will find its way in all three Vivobook S (M5406, M5506, M5606) variants.
