Leading PC maker Lenovo is announcing its foldable laptop, the ThinkPad X1 Fold, is now available globally. This laptop was first announced back in September 2022 (more than a year ago) and has undergone “significant real-world user testing through a comprehensive system verification process,” according to the press release.

The specs consist of a 16.3-inch foldable OLED panel with a resolution of 2560 x 2024 – essentially an extended QHD resolution – and offer up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD storage. However, the CPU is a slightly older 12th Gen vPro model which wasn’t specified at this writing. In terms of connectivity features, it includes Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G SIM support. It’ll cost $2,499 USD, though no local pricing has been announced just yet (Lenovo’s Malaysian website only says “Coming in 2023”).

Meanwhile, Lenovo has also teamed up with EPOS with a new strategic agreement to produce audio hardware. This results in two co-branded headsets, the Lenovo Wired VOIP Headset and Wired ANC Headset Gen 2, each costing $54.99 and $129.99 respectively. Both models share the same design, with an inline audio control and a USB-C connector (USB-A adapter included). A travel pouch will also be included with the purchase of these headsets.

Pokdepinion: Personally I haven’t tried foldable laptops just yet – would be interesting to see how it works in practice.
