Unveiled through Copilot+ PC launch earlier this year, Microsoft today is announcing the availability of its upcoming Snapdragon-powered Surface laptops for the Malaysian market. Pre-orders are now open, with general availability starting from August 6, 2024 onwards. Commercial variants of the Surface Pro with built-in NFC reader will be available on 10 September 2024 for business users.
New Snapdragon-Powered Surface Pro & Surface Laptop

The Surface Pro 11, powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus SoCs, features 90% faster performance over Surface Pro 9, while supporting three external 4K displays. It comes with two USB 4 ports, and a 13” display with optional OLED HDR panel. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, optional 5G, and an ultra-wide 10MP autofocus webcam. The accompanying Surface Slim Pen now features Zero Force inking and a built-in haptic motor to simulate the physical feedback.

The Surface Laptop 7, also powered by Snapdragon SoCs, features a redesigned PixelSense touchscreen display with 120Hz refresh rate with HDR and Dolby Vision IQ support. It’s available in 13.8” and 15” sizes, and Microsoft claims it offers up to 20 and 22 hours of battery life, respectively. Configurations include 16GB or 32GB RAM paired with storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB.
For pricing, the Surface Pro 11 starts from RM5,399; as for the Surface Laptop 7, prices start from RM5,399 for 13.8-inch models, while the 15-inch models will cost RM6,899 and above. Pre-orders for the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are open until August 5, 2024, with exclusive gifts worth up to RM700 for early orders. The devices will be generally available after the pre-order period ends, through authorized retailers including All IT, iTworld, Gloo, Harvey Norman, PC Image, Senheng, and TMT.
