Apple Far Out Event Date Confirmed

The date for the upcoming Apple Event, titled Far Out, has been confirmed for 7th September at 10AM PT. That is 8th September 1AM for Malaysia time (GMT+8), and we can look forward to learn more about the iPhone 14 series of devices.

The space theme of the event is likely to do with a feature on the new iPhone 14 series, likely involving its telephoto camera and its zoom capabilities, but we’re uncertain if it will apply to all devices or just the Pro models having the limelight. We expect to see at least four devices; the 6.1-inch base model, 6.7-inch Max model, a 6.1-inch Pro model, and the top-of-the-line 6.7-inch Pro Max model.

The Mini isn’t expected to appear this time around, especially due to poor sales of the existing iPhone 13 Mini, but there’s always a chance it might get launched later on. For now, we expect to see the new Apple A16 Bionic chip to power the Pro models whereas the standard ones will be using the same A15 Bionic chip powering its predecessors.

Due to inflation and manufacturing costs, it was speculated that prices of the new iPhone 14 series could rise as much as 15% but we will have to wait for the event to find out. Other potential gadgets making a show at the event would be the Apple Watch Series 8, a 2nd Gen AirPods Pro, and an updated Mac Pro. However, some of these might be saved for a later event in October instead.

The Apple Far Out Event will be livestreamed on their official website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube. It will likely be pre-recorded instead of being a live event, and we will report about it as the event unfolds so stay tuned.

Pokdepinion: As much as I can’t wait to see how the new devices will fare, I’m more excited for next year because of the potential move to USB-C. Either way, I might consider upgrading anyway so we shall see how it goes. I definitely would like a bigger screen but a slightly better battery life would always be welcomed.
