Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max to Set New Record for Bezel Thickness, Rumour Suggests
Rumours suggest that the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will have thinner bezels, measuring only 1.55mm. This article explores the potential implications of this rumour and what we might expect from the new iPhone.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max to Have Thinnest Bezels Yet
Apple fans may be in for a treat with the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to recent reports, the bezel thickness will be at an all-time low, measuring only 1.55mm. The current thickness of the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s black border around the screen is 2.17mm. For comparison, the Galaxy 22 and S23 bezels are approximately 1.95mm thick.
The news comes from popular smartphone insider, Ice Universe. This isn’t the first time Ice Universe has discussed the importance of bezel thickness, and it seems they’re still obsessed. But for those who appreciate a sleek design, the news is certainly exciting.
The glass panels of the iPhone 15 series were shown on video a couple of weeks ago, with the person handling them reporting that the bezels on the Pro models are thinner than those on the vanilla phone. However, it’s worth noting that the difference in thickness may be relative, meaning the vanilla iPhone 15 may also have slimmer borders.
It’s not just the Pro Max model that will have slimmer bezels either. CAD renders show thinner bezels on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro as well. The two phones will feature the “Dynamic Island” design with a centered pill-shaped punch hole.
There have also been CAD renders for the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. They will also switch to the Dynamic Island design, but ProMotion will remain exclusive to the Pros, which means the vanilla models will still have 60Hz displays.
In addition to thinner bezels, one significant change is coming to all iPhone 15 models – the USB-C port. Apple fans have been waiting for this change for a long time, and it’s finally happening.
Pokdepinion: Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s new record in bezel thickness is exciting news, but I foresee most people only appreciating it when they can get their hands on the highly anticipated device. The upcoming release is expected to be later this year.
