For the most part, updates for iOS are usually minimal as it involves stability fixes. The most recent one Apple pushed out, version 14.4, fixes some major security flaws on the iPhone that are known to be actively used by hackers. Moreover, the changes are also present on the iPad OS.

Given the nature of the exploit, it’s no surprise that Apple is keeping most details a secret. From what we know thus far, two of those security flaws involve the Safari browser, more specifically the browser engine WebKit. The other one is found in the kernel, which plays a major role in the operating system itself.

If you have yet to be prompted for software update 14.4, just head on over to Settings and you should be able to find it. It may ask to temporarily remove apps in order to make more space for the update, but it will reinstall those same apps for you after it has been successfully installed so no worries there.
