Blackmagic Design has released version 2.1 of its popular Blackmagic Camera app for iOS, introducing several advanced features tailored for iPhone 16 users. The standout addition is the new Camera Control support, which allows users to adjust zoom, exposure, focus, and ISO with ease—simply by swiping the Camera Control button. This update builds on version 2.0, which brought native iPad support in August, enhancing usability across devices.

In an effort to streamline access, the app now integrates with the iPhone’s Control Center, Lock Screen, and Camera Control options, making it faster for users to launch and manage settings. Blackmagic Design has also expanded accessory compatibility, adding DockKit support for devices like the Insta360 Flow Pro gimbal, giving users more flexibility and stability options for video capture.

Additionally, Blackmagic Camera 2.1 introduces higher bitrate recording for H.264 and H.265 formats. This allows users to capture high-quality video with less reliance on ProRes, helping save storage space without sacrificing video fidelity.

For iPhone videographers looking to get the most out of their devices, the latest Blackmagic Camera update delivers robust new features that simplify filming and enhance the quality of captured footage.

Pokdepinion: This is gonna be quite a useful update if I do say so myself, at least for work. Pretty sure I would still end up using the standard camera app when taking photos for fun.
