As the race for top-tier smartphone performance heats up, MediaTek is ready to make a bold statement with the launch of its latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400. Officially set for an unveiling on October 9, this new chip is already making waves, surpassing Apple’s A18 chip in GPU benchmarks and topping the AnTuTu performance scales. It’s shaping up to be a serious contender in the mobile chipset market.
Dimensity 9400: High-Powered CPU and GPU Leaks

Thanks to a leak from the well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), we now have an idea of what the Dimensity 9400’s CPU will look like. According to the leaks, the chip will feature:
- One Cortex-X925 super-large core clocked at a blazing 3.626 GHz
- Three Cortex-X4 large cores
- Four Cortex-A720 cores, though some speculate this could actually be Cortex-A725, as they are the latest designs from Arm.
While there’s a bit of uncertainty surrounding the A720 vs. A725, the other details seem to suggest clock speeds similar to last year’s Dimensity 9300, with the X4 cores clocking in at 2.85 GHz and the A720/A725 cores at 2 GHz.
On the graphics front, the Dimensity 9400 will boast an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU clocked at an impressive 1,612 MHz, giving it the power to handle intensive mobile gaming and multimedia tasks with ease.
A Head-to-Head with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

MediaTek isn’t the only one gearing up for a major chipset release this October. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (possibly renamed Snapdragon 8 Elite) is expected to drop soon after the Dimensity 9400. Both chips promise significant improvements over their predecessors, but the Dimensity 9400 is already gaining attention for its impressive performance benchmarks and rumored cost advantage.
With its powerful CPU architecture and high-performance GPU, the Dimensity 9400 is expected to deliver substantial improvements in speed, efficiency, and overall user experience. Not only is it expected to offer better value than its competitors, but it also positions MediaTek as a serious player in the flagship chipset market.
As we await the official launch of the Dimensity 9400, it’s clear that MediaTek is aiming to disrupt the status quo, offering a premium performance experience at a potentially lower price point. Keep an eye on this chip—it could very well be the star of the next generation of smartphones.
Pokdepinion: Admittedly, this and recent Exynos chips have made the mobile gadget space a whole lot more exciting. If it can be powerful but somehow keep costs on the lower side compared to Qualcomm’s offerings, then we’re going to see a huge shift in the consumer space.
I love your articles. It is always a pleasant to read. Any chance of Sony Xperia 1 VI review article in the near future?
