Xiaomi has announced Malaysian actor Meerqeen as the REDMI Note 17 Series Malaysia Ambassador, ahead of the smartphone series’ launch on 2 September 2026.

Xiaomi described the appointment as a “natural alignment between the actor’s dynamic lifestyle and REDMI’s commitment to delivering technology that enables users to stay connected, pursue their passions and achieve more every day.” The company said Meerqeen’s career and fast-paced schedule reflect the needs of the device’s target users, which made him the “ideal” ambassador for the smartphone maker’s campaigning efforts.
“As someone who is constantly on the move, my schedule can sometimes stretch from morning until late at night. Whether I’m on set, creating content or staying connected with my fans, I need a device that can keep up with my lifestyle and give me the confidence to stay powered throughout the day,” says Meerqeen. Seems like the 10,000mAh battery onboard the upcoming smartphone is well-suited for his needs, then.
And that is the highlight feature of the REDMI Note 17 Series – the lineup includes a 10,000mAh battery paired with Xiaomi’s 100W HyperCharge fast charging technology, which allows the smartphone to have excellent endurance while ensuring the battery gets topped up quickly (it’s worth reminding that bigger batteries requires more charging time). Xiaomi even has the tagline going for it: “Cas Sekali, Tahan Tiga Hari,” meaning charge once, and it’ll last three days.
Of course, we’ll have to see if these claims are indeed true and accurate once it’s available – Xiaomi Malaysia will unveil further details of the REDMI Note 17 Series during its launch event on 2 September 2026, which will be streamed on the company’s official channels.
